Home is my favorite place. I love being with my siblings and my mom and dad. I wish I lived closer to them. I loved having Tyler with me. It was our first Christmas together and it was one to remember. :)
Our Christmas traditions start with the Powell Family Pajama Christmas Party. It was slightly crazy, but was exactly like any Christmas party you see in the movies. Kids were running around screaming, no one could take a serious picture, and ate southern breakfast for dinner. It was a great way to start my time home.
Home was very relaxing. We ventured out before Gracyn's nap and after we do not do too much. New Orleans is a fun place to explore, but this year was wayyy colder than normal. Last year, we were swimming on Christmas day. This year, the puddles were frozen over. It was slightly depressing, but we did some fun things.
The highlight of Christmas was watching my mom and dad open their gift. We got them a custom painting of Cort. Cort is there favorite thing (besides Gracyn) in the whole world. No one would think he is a dog with the way they talk about him. My mom started crying when they opened it and it was awesome. haha There is a video down below.
For the last 2 years, we have gone bowling for New Years. Tyler is way better than any of us, but it is a fun outing that we do as a family. We also went to the aquarium. It was way crowded this year because of how cold it is. If you are ever planning on visiting New Orleans, come in the fall. It's the perfect temperature.
Being home was so nice. It is so weird that I am going back to BYU for my last semester. Time is flying and Christmas went by way too fast. I miss my family when I am apart from them.
I usually don't make New Years resolutions (I think we should be making goals all year long). But, my sisters and I decided to make some group ones. We are going to finish the Book of Mormon again this year. I have been super bad with scripture studies, and really want to get better again. We made a goal to work out four times a week (that one is more for Sydney. haha) Our last goal is to follow the GERD diet. I basically live with constant heartburn. We want to see if this will help. It is going to be challenging for sure. I basically can't eat anything, but it will help me figure out what is good to eat. So it will be worth it. :)
I hope you all had an amazing holiday season! Good luck with you goals and with the new year!
